CYNTHIA HARDY

A dancer in her earlier years, she later picked up the acoustic guitar and developed a passion for writing and performing for her friends. A lot of her free time was spent learning songs and applying those techniques to her own music. Both Cynthia and her friend Michelle Newman dreamed of starting a rock band together.  One of their unfinished songs, "The Look" was recorded and produced by Pat Maguire & David Hardy.

One of my most vivid and powerful memories of Cynthia was a day when I was working on the back side of my roof. I heard "Declan" by Jeff Beck playing and I climbed to the peak. I looked down and saw my beautiful daughter doing pirouettes and dancing to the music playing from her car radio. It was an emotional moment for me.   I told this story to my good friend Pat Maguire after Cynthia had passed away. Not long after that he wrote an amazing song called "Rooftop Pirouette" in her memory.

Jimmy Rivas presented his beautiful composition to Jan & I and asked us to give it a title.  We both agreed that "Heaven" best described the angelic nature of the music.

Her spirit is captured within these two instrumentals.

I will be forever grateful to these incredible friends for remembering my daughter in this way.

From the time she was just a little girl up until her teen aged years, whenever I told her that Jimmy or Pat was coming over for a recording session, she would get excited and hurry to get all dressed up for their arrival.

I have provided links to both of these compositions below:
